SUPERINTENDENT FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

Based in Tabubil and reporting to Manager Finance, you will be responsible for coordinating and motivating the Financial Accounting team within the Finance department. You will be required to provide leadership at senior Level on all Financial Accounting Activities.


Your role will involve:

  • Observing and complying with the safety and health policies and practices of OTML;
  • Monitoring and managing all Financial Accounting activities within the section and ensuring your team’s performance is compliant with the PNG Mining Act and Special Rules;
  • Promoting, monitoring and ensuring all Financial Accounting activities and tasks, both planned and unplanned are performed with minimal disruption to the overall Finance Department and Company function;
  • Implementing daily, weekly, and long-term plans and reporting issues and problems and recommended changes for considerations by management;
  • Monitoring utilisation of all Financial Accounting systems that are in place and ensuring procedural instruction documentations are accurate, appropriate, understood and followed for all facets of Financial Accounting;
  • Ensuring all Financial Accounting functions, including Taxation, Accounts Payable, Receivable, Treasury and Payroll activities are relevantly conducted within approved policy, procedures and regulations;
  • Ensuring effective control of costs by monitoring work practices, controlling associated expenditure, and recommending and implementing appropriate cost-effective measures within the survey team;
  • Ensuring SAP Financial Accounting modules are utilised by the section and ensuring relevant data are fed back into the system for further analysis;
  • Reviewing all relevant records and data, identifying areas of improvement and developing action plans to address accordingly; and
  • Supervising, assessing and training the Financial Accounting team members in areas of safety and technical skills.


To be considered, you must possess the following:

  • An Accounting degree or higher with CPA accreditation from a reputable institution;
  • At least 6-10 years in a similar position in mining, manufacturing or big industries;
  • Proficient in Accounting Systems such SAP, financial functions, procedures and processes; and
  • Excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
