The Ancillary Workshops Department of Ok Tedi Gold and Copper Mine is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person for the role of Tools Storeman. Reporting to the Supervisor Fitting & Machining, you will be responsible for issuing tools, lifting gears, equipment fittings/parts, keeping tool logs up to date, inventory, tool registry, housekeeping and management of tool store.
Basic functions of the role include customer service, issuing and recording, filing, data entry and stocktaking.
To be considered, you must have a Grade 10 certificate or equivalent and 2 years’ experience in a similar role in the mining industry. Experience in Mechanical Trade skills or Handyman is desirable, plus basic computer skills MS Word and MS Excel.
You must also have effective communication skills, attention to detail, organisational skills, and have a commitment to excellence in health, safety and environment, and understanding of different cultural/community/environmental issues.
This is a challenging role requiring enthusiasm, a commitment to safety in the workplace and a high degree of self-direction.
